Welcome to the Retro Recap Section! This section is the home for recaps of Family Feud episodes prior to a time to be determined later, including daytime shows. All international recaps will also go in this area. As time goes on, we hope to amass a large stock of recaps and lots of discussion of these episodes, but there are some rules that need to be established first:
1. This section is for recap and discussion of specific individual episodes (contestants, gameplay, host failures, and so forth). Debates over more general topics (board layouts, set designs, etc.) should go in the "Facing Off" section instead.
2. Any member in good standing may post a recap, as long as they do so in accordance with the rules outlined here.
3. Episodes being recapped should be televised Family Feud broadcasts. Netgame and video game recaps do NOT belong here, nor do any figments of your imagination.
4. If an episode has already been recapped by another member, you may discuss this episode freely within that recap thread, but DO NOT recap the episode again. Please find new episodes to add to our collection. If you are not sure if an episode has been recapped already, consult the directory here which has a full listing of recapped episodes.
5. When posting a recap, try and date your episode with as much precision as possible in order to avoid double recapping. Unfortunately, sometimes exact dates cannot be determined from the resources we have available. However, if you can narrow it down as much as possible, this will help us to stay organized.
6. When you write a recap, make sure your details are as accurate as possible. Due to varying degrees of video quality in these old episodes, some things may be difficult to be 100% correct about (such as contestant names), but try to be as close as the source material allows.
7. If you spot an error in a recap, either fix it (if it's your own thread) or let the original poster know so they can make changes. When you are informing another member of a mistake, be specific and detailed about the specific item involved and be polite about bringing it to their attention (don't rub their nose in it).
8. When discussing contestant play, try to be constructive whenever possible. Occasionally past players will stumble upon our boards and see their episode recap, and the last thing we want them to see is a bunch of disparaging remarks about their play.
9. If you are discussing a recap (your own or anyone else's), be considerate of other members in your posts. Passion is encouraged, put-downs are NOT - and the staff WILL take appropriate action!
10. All rules of the forums as a whole still apply to this section. This includes the right of the mod staff to make additions, subtractions, or corrections to posts as necessary.
11. These rules may be subject to change at any time if a situation requires it.
Again, welcome to this section, and happy recapping!
